  Alabama vs. Howard After a stunning loss to Mississippi State the Crimson Tide needed a victory badly to keep its National Title hopes alive and unfortuantly for Howard they were next on the schedule and the Tide soundly defeated Howard 61-0. Both James Nelson and and Carl Mims scored 3 touchdowns for the Tide. One of Nelson's touchdowns was off of a 95 yard kickoff return. Other Tide touchdowns were scored by Don Salls and Ted Cook. The 1941 squad finished the season 9-2 as National Champions after a victory in the Cotton Bowl for Coach Thomas.
