Alabama would make the short trip to Columbus to do battle with Mississippi, and sloppy special teams play on the part of Mississippi would net Bama this 20-0 win. The game was never even in doubt as Bama was able to put eight first half points on the board on a safety (a punt was blocked and recovered in the endzone) and on a fumbled punt that was recovered and returned for a touchdown by Emile Hannon. In the second half, Bama would score a pair of touchdowns on a blocked punt recovered and returned by E.D. Greene and on a short run by Raymond Sturdivant late in the game. The 1907 squad finished the season 5-1-2 for head coach J.W.H. Pollard. |
