  Alabama vs. Mississippi For the first and only time of the 2000 season, Alabama would show why they were the preseason #3 team in the nation with this 45-7 destruction of Ole Miss. Neal Thomas would score Bama's first points on field goals of 20 and 37 yards before Ahmaad Galloway would score the Tide's first touchdown on a 1 yard run in the second. Andrew Zow would close Alabama's first half scoring with his 2 yard touchdown run late in the second. In the third, Kecalf Bailey would return a missed Ole Miss field goal 63 yards for a touchdown, and Thomas would hit a 25 yard field goal to close the third quarter scoring. In the fourth, the Tide would score a pair of touchdowns on a 1 yard Galloway run and on a 36 yard Brandon Miree run. For the game Antonio Carter would have 157 yards receiving. The 2000 squad would finish the season with a record of 3-8 in Mike Dubose's final season as head coach of the Tide.
