  Alabama vs. Mississippi After a very thrilling game in Florida Alabama went back on the road to face the Ole Miss Rebels. Alabama was victorious 30-24. Ryan Pflugner started off the scoring in the game with a 45 yard field goal just over 3 minutes into the game. This was his first game back after a leg injury kept him out of the previous 3 games. Later in the first, Shawn Alexander scored his first of 3 touchdowns on the afternoon with a 1 yard run. With time running out in the first half Alexander scored again on another 1 yarder putting the Tide up by 10 going into halftime. In the third, Alexander struck again; this time with a 2 yard run. Another Pflugner field goal put Alabama up 27-7. Mississippi was not out of it yet however scoring two touchdowns and a field goal to cut the lead to three with 8 minutes remaining in the game. Ryan Pflugner's 24 yard field goal with 2:15 remaining in the game sealed the win for Alabama. The 1999 squad finished the season with a 10-3 record, as SEC champions, and with an appearance in the Orange Bowl for coach Mike Dubose.
