  Alabama vs. Georgia Tech In what was considered to be the biggest surprise of the 1914 season, Alabama was able to defeat the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech by the score of 13-0 in Birmingham's Rickwood Field. Alabama would score their first points on a short touchdown pass from Charles Joplin to Lowndes Morton in the first quarter. After the score, both teams would battle each other evenly up until the fourth quarter when the Thin Red Line was able to punch one into the endzone on a on a three yard touchdown pass from Joplin to H.B. Love. The 1914 squad would finish the season with a record of 5-4 in D.V. Graves’ final season as Alabama's head coach.
