  Alabama vs. Tennessee A tough Volunteer team gave the Tide all that they could handle in this 19-8 Bama victory in Knoxville. After only managing a 30 yard David Ray field goal in the first, the Tide would score a pair of second quarter touchdowns. Steve Sloan scored the first of these touchdowns on a 1 yard run, and Gaylon McCollough would take a a blocked punt 22 yards back to the house. Ray would provide the Tide's only second half points after hitting a 23 yard field goal in the fourth. The 1964 squad finished 10-1, as SEC champions, as national champions, and with an appearance in the Orange Bowl for Coach Bryant.
