  Alabama vs. Tennessee Alabama would put up 56 points and 535 yards of total offense and in the process end a four game losing streak to the Vols with this 56-28 triumph in Knoxville. In the first, Alabama would score touchdowns on a 13 yard Bo Wright run, a 34 yard Mike Shula pass to Clay Whitehurst, and on a 1 yard Shula run. In the second, the Tide would score touchdowns on a 4 yard Gene Jelks run, a 27 yard Bobby Humphrey run, and on a 31 yard pass play from Shula to Angelo Stafford. In the third, Alabama scored on a 1 yard Humphrey touchdown plunge. In the fourth, Humphrey would score Bama's final touchdown on a 7 yard run. For the game, Bobby Humphrey rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns. The 1986 Crimson Tide finished the season with a record of 10-3 and with a victory in the Sun Bowl in what would be Coach Ray Perkins' last year with Alabama.
