  Alabama vs. Mississippi

Coming off a much-needed win over Southern Mississippi for homecoming, the Crimson Tide traveled to Oxford Mississippi with a little confidence. However that confidence was shattered by the Rebels in the first quarter when Eli Manning led the team to 24 first quarter points en route to a 43-28 victory. Alabama did bring the deficit back to a respectable 14 by the end of the half as Shaud Williams ran for a 3 yard touchdown and Brian Bostick hit a 32 yard field goal cutting the Ole Miss lead to 24-14 at the break. Mississippi came back in the third when Manning hit his 3rd touchdown of the game. Chris James later recovered a blocked punt for a 32-yard touchdown. Brodie Croyle would later hit two touchdowns. His first a 22 yard pass to Ray Hudson and the next a 5-yard pass to Shaud Williams. On both touchdowns Croyle attempted 2-point conversion passes and they were both incomplete. Mississippi added a safety with just over a minute remaining in the game to complete the scoring. Croyle finished the game 21 for 29 passing for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 2003 Crimson Tide finished the season 4-9 for head coach Mike Shula in his first season at the Capstone.
