  Alabama vs. Tennessee Coming off of a disappointing loss to Florida the Crimson Tide took on Tennessee in Birmingham and won easily 35-0. Benny Nelson scored the first points of the game on a 36 yard rush. But the star of the game was Joe Namath. Joe scored 3 passing touchdowns, one on the ground and even converted a 2 point conversion late in the game. His first score came on a 26 yard pass to Jimmy Dill. Namath later connected with Charlie Stephens on a 3 yard pass to give Alabama a 21-0 halftime lead. The final 14 points came in the third quarter. The first touchdown came on a 5 yard pass from Namath to Hudson Harris, and the final score came on a 1 yard Namath run. The 1963 squad finished with a record of 9-2 with a victory in the Sugar Bowl over Mississippi for Coach Bryant.
