  Alabama vs. Arkansas State In spite of sloppy play by the Tide (8 fumbles), Alabama was able to easily defeat the Indians by a score of 34-7. Paul Carruth would open the scoring for the Tide with his 12 yard touchdown run in the first. In the second, Perry Cuda hit Joey Jones for touchdown receptions of 20 and 17 yards, and this was followed with a pair of Peter Kim field goals. Bama would end their scoring in the third with a 12 yard Craig Turner touchdown run. The 1982 squad would finish with a record of 8-4 and with a victory in the Liberty Bowl in Coach Bryant's final season at the Capstone.
