  Alabama vs. Tennessee In the first Birmingham game of the 1934 season, the Tide was able to defeat the hated Vols by a score of 13-6. Bama's first touchdown came on an 8 yard run by Joe Demyanovich in the second quarter. Don Hutson would then score the game-winning touchdown on an amazing 7 yard run in the third quarter. Tennessee would get within scoring range on a couple more occasions for the afternoon, but were not able to score due to strong defensive play by the Tide. The 1934 squad would finish the season with a record of 10-0, as SEC champions, and as national champions after defeating Stanford in the Rose Bowl for head coach Frank Thomas.
