  Alabama vs. Tennessee In what was Alabama's first ever SEC road game, the Tide would leave Knoxville with a 12-6 victory over the hated Vols. After being held scoreless in the first half, Bama would score all 12 of their points in the third quarter. Erskine Walker would visit the endzone first and Dixie Howell would follow by scoring from 4 yards out. Alabama's defense was then able to preserve the lead, and Bama would leave Knoxville with a hard fought 12-6 victory. In the game, Dixie Howell would set the Alabama school record for the longest punt with an 89 yard kick. The Tennessee loss also marked the first loss for the Vols in Knoxville since a loss to Vanderbilt in 1924. The 1933 squad would finish with a record of 7-1-1 and as the inaugural SEC champions for head coach Frank Thomas.
