Alabama vs.Tennessee

  Date: 10/21/1950
  Score: 9-14
Alabama vs. Tennessee The Tide looked great all game until a series of costly mistakes in the fourth quarter led to a 14-0 Vol Victory. Red Lutz knocked in a field goal for the Tide early to give them a 3-0 lead. The lead was short lived however as a roughing the kicker penalty on the Tide led to a Vol score and with the converted point game them a 7-3 lead over the Tide. Bama stormed back with a 72 yard drive capped by a 43 yard Bobby Marlow run. In the final quarter the Tide defense held strong once with a goal line stand but with two minutes remaining could not hold of the Vols again as they scored from the 2 yard line and stole the victory. Many writers called this the best game of the 1950 season. The 1950 squad would finish the season with a record of 9-2 for Coach Red Drew.
