  Alabama vs. George Washington After a tough game against rival Tennessee a week earlier, the Crimson Tide traveled north to Washington, D.C. to face George Washington with Tide prevailing 19-0. In the second quarter Joe Kilgrow connected with Perron Shoemaker for the first touchdown of the game and Kilgrow Kicked the extra point. Kilgrow scored the second touchdown as well with a 15 yard run. The final Alabama score came in the third quarter when Charlie Holm intercepted a pass and ran it back 23 yards. The 1937 squad finished the season 9-1 as SEC Champions and with a loss in the Rose Bowl for Coach Frank Thomas.
