  Alabama vs. Tennessee In what was Alabama's lone road game of the 1914 season, the Thin Red Line would travel to Knoxville only to lose to the Vols by the score of 17-7. Alabama's lone points came in the second when Bully VanderGraaff recovered a Tennessee fumble and returned it 50 yards for the touchdown. As a sidenote to the game, Bama's quarterback Charlie Joplin was ruled ineligible to play by the Southern Conference commissioner due to playing professional baseball. The 1914 squad would finish the season with a record of 5-4 in D.V. Graves’ final season as Alabama's head coach.
