Alabama vs.Sewanee

  Alabama vs. Sewanee Coming off a miserable performance against Tennessee the week before in which Alabama was shutout they hosted Sewanee in Legion field and were victorious 33-0. Only 5,000 fans witnessed the game. John Cain scored the first touchdown of the afternoon after Sewanee fumbled the opening kickoff. Ben Smith cracked the end zone for the second touchdown off of a Hilmon Holley pass. Bama was not done however and they produced more points in the second half. Cain found himself back in the end zone again on a 25 yard dash and in the fourth quarter Joe Cousey scored on a 28 yard run and Leon Long scored on a 26 yard pass from Howard Chapell. The 1931 squad finished the season 9-1 for coach Frank Thomas in his first season at the Capstone.
