  Alabama vs. Georgia Tech A packed house in Atlanta came to watch Georgia Tech and the Crimson Tide battle it out, and for the first time under coach Alexander the Tech squad lost to a southern team 14-0. Georgia Tech was also heavily favored in the contest. Just before the first half ended Alabama mounted an impressive scoring drive. The hard running of Mack Brown got the ball to the Tech 37 yard line and from there Grant Gillis took the snap and threw it deep to Mack Brown for the touchdown and the point after conversion gave Bama a 7-0 halftime lead. In the fourth quarter a key interception by Dave Rosenfeld gave Alabama good field position where they advanced to the 8 yard line where Rosenfeld finished what he started with an 8 yard touchdown run. Mack Brown was the star of the game gaining 135 rushing yards on just 10 carries. The 1924 squad finished the season 8-1 for the first Southern Conference title in school history for coach Wallace Wade.
