  Alabama vs. Mississippi State Bobby Marlow and Corky Tharp controlled the game for Alabama in this game as they scored five touchdowns between them to lead the Tide to a convincing 42-19 victory over the Maroons. Marlow scored the first touchdown on a 7 yard run and the second on a 56 yard jaunt. Marlow's third score came off of a 14 yard Clell Hobson pass. In the second half it was Tharp's time to shine as he took a Hobson pitch 54 yards for a score. Hobson hooked up with Tharp again on a 45 yard pass and the other touchdown came off of a Bob Conway 4 yard run. The 1952 squad finished the season with a record of 10-2 and a victory in the Orange Bowl for Coach Red Drew.
