  Alabama vs. Mississippi In what was Alabama's most complete and dominating performance of the 1917 season, Bama simply destroyed Mississippi by a score of 64-0 in Tuscaloosa. For the game Bama would score three touchdowns in each of the first two quarters and after being held scoreless in the third would put four more on the board in the fourth. Riggs Stephenson was simply outstanding in scoring five of the ten touchdowns. Elmer Blair, Talty O'Connor (who each scored two apiece), and J.H. Emmett would score Bama's other points in the shutout. The 1917 squad would finish the season with a record of 5-2-1 in what was Thomas Kelly's final season as Alabama's head coach.
