Alabama vs.Mississippi State

  Date: 10/29/1927
  Score: 13-7
Alabama vs. Mississippi State A pesky Mississippi A&M squad would actually lead going into the fourth quarter, but a fourth quarter rally would result in a 13-7 Alabama victory. In the first quarter, Clark Pearce would strip the ball from the Maroon quarterback and return it 80 yards for the touchdown. Unfortunately, the extra point was missed and this would result in Alabama trailing by a score of 7-6 going into the fourth. In the fourth, Bama would take the lead for good after Red Brown caught a Davis Brasfield pass and ran 40 yards for the game-winning touchdown. The 1927 squad would finish the season with a record of 5-4-1 for head coach Wallace Wade.
