  Date: 10/31/1931
  Score: 9-7
Alabama vs. Kentucky The Kentucky Wildcats hosted the Crimson Tide for the 1931 Homecoming game but Bama was not interested in the celebration and spoiled the Wildcat's week winning 9-7 in the big game. All of the game's scoring took place in the second half. In the first half Kentucky's defense was the story holding the Tide on downs 6 times two of which were inside the Wildcat 10. In the second half Kentucky jumped onto the board first but would not hold the lead for long. After holding Bama on its ensuing drive the Wildcats fumbled the punt on their own 26 and Alabama recovered. Several plays later John Cain scored a 10 yard touchdown run and when "Ears" Whitworth kicked the extra point the game was all tied up. The winning margin came in the fourth when Bama had UK backed up all the way to their own 8 yard line and they blocked a punt in the end zone resulting in a game-winning safety. The 1931 squad finished the season 9-1 for coach Frank Thomas in his first season at the Capstone.
