  Alabama vs. Mississippi State After giving up a touchdown to State on the opening kickoff, the Tide would score 23 unanswered points and come out of Jackson with a 23-6 victory. In the game, David Ray would score all of the Tide's first half points on field goals of 34, 40, and 20 yards. In the second half, Steve Bowman would score both of the Tide's touchdowns on a pair of 1 yard rushes in the third. The 1964 squad finished 10-1, as SEC champions, as national champions, and with an appearance in the Orange Bowl for Coach Bryant.
