  Alabama vs. Mississippi State Alabama came out of the gates flying in this one and never looked back scoring all of their 35 points before the Bulldogs could even get on the board scoring only once late in the game giving the Tide a 35-6 win. Johnny Musso started the scoring off for Alabama with a 13 yard run. Also in the first half, George Ranager scored on a 10 yard run and Musso added his second of three touchdowns with a 1 yard run. In the third quarter David Brungard ran for a 14 yard touchdown, and Musso tacked on a 3 yard touchdown run. In total the Crimson Tide racked up over 500 yards of total offense in the game. The 1970 squad finished with a record of 6-5-1 along with a tie in the Bluebonnet Bowl for coach Bryant.
