  Alabama vs. Birmingham Southern The Xen Scott era at Alabama kicked off on October 4, 1919 as the Crimson Tide faced off against Birmingham Southern, but the Panthers were no match for the mighty Tide as they won 27-0. This was the first game since the 1917 season as the 1918 season was cancelled due to World War One. E.B. Lenoir scored the first touchdown of the game on a long end run and Charles Bartlett scored the second for both of the first quarter scores. Alabama scored one touchdown in each of the final three quarters and Ike Boone kicked 3 extra points. The 1919 squad finished the season 8-1 for coach Xen Scott in his first years at Alabama.
