  Alabama vs. Mississippi In spite of the Rebels gaining an amazing 609 yards of total offense under the leadership of Archie Manning, the Tide left Legion Field with a 33-32 victory over the Rebels. Johnny Musso would open the scoring for the Tide with his 1 yard touchdown run in the first. In the second, Bubba Sawyer would visit the end zone on a 17 yard touchdown run. In the third, Musso would score again on a 1 yard touchdown run. In the fourth, Scott Hunter would score on a 1 yard touchdown run and throw another to George Ranger (14 yards). A missed Rebel extra point in the third provided the Tide with the one point margin of victory. The 1969 squad would finish the season with a record of 6-5 along with an appearance in the Liberty Bowl for Coach Bryant.
