  Alabama vs. Kentucky The Crimson Tide defeated the Wildcats of Kentucky (with their second shutout in as many games) by a score of 45-0. Bama started off slow with just 2 field goals in the first quarter, but the Tide picked it up later in the game. Major Ogilvie scored the first touchdown of the game in the second quarter on a 1 yard plunge. Linne Patrick scored the next Bama touchdown with another 1 yard plunge. Mitch Ferguson scored on a 2 yard run to start the fourth quarter, but the Tide was still not done. Jeff Fagan would next run for a 41 yard score, and the Tide capped the game with a fumble recovery in the endzone by All-American Mike Pitts. The 1980 squad finished the season with a record of 10-2 and with a victory in the Cotton Bowl for Coach Bryant.
