  Alabama vs. Vanderbilt A week after losing to LSU on the road 28-0, the Tide rebounded by tying the Commodores 6-6 in Nashville. Alabama would drive the opening kickoff 58 yards with Clay Walls running in Bama's only touchdown early in the first. The Tide had a chance to win the game late, but Vandy was able to stop the Tide's advance at the 1 yard line as time expired. The 1957 squad finished with a 2-7-1 record in Coach Whitworth's final season as the head coach of the Tide.
