  Alabama vs. Georgia On an abnormally hot October afternoon in Tuscaloosa the Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Crimson Tide for the first time ever at Bryant-Denny Stadium by the score of 27-25. Michael Ziifle started the Alabama scoring in the first quarter with a 47 yard field goal. In the second Brodie Croyle connected with Dre Fulgham for a 30 yard touchdown pass but the extra point was no good and the Dogs led 14-9 at halftime. In the second half Brian Bostick kicked a 36 yard field goal which made the score 17-12 in favor of Georgia. After a Georgia touchdown Alabama came back with a vengence scoring two touchdowns in just over a minute. The first came on a 1 Yard Quarterback keeper by Brodie Croyle and the second a 35 yard interception return by Charlie Peprah. However becuse of the missed point after earlier the Tide was forced to go for two here and missed. With under a minute remaining in the game Georgia kicked a 32 yard field goal for the win. The 2002 squad would finish the season with a record of 10-3 for coach Dennis Franchione in his final season at the Capstone.
