Alabama vs.Vanderbilt

  Alabama vs. Vanderbilt Once again, Bama struggled against the Commodores and lost to them 22-27 in Mobile. Alabama lost the game as a result of the inability of the Tide to stop the Vandy passing attack that gained 293 yards on the Alabama defense. The Tide however did have many bright spots in the game and the touchdowns were as follows: Ed Salem on a 5 yard run, a 17 yard Butch Avinger to Al Lary pass, a 2 yard dive across the goal for George McGain, and the defense did record a safety late in the game with a Jug Jenkins sack of a Vandy quarterback. The 1950 squad would finish the season with a record of 9-2 for Coach Red Drew.
