  Alabama vs. Mississippi Alabama faced Ole Miss for the sixth game of the 1924 season and for the sixth straight game the Tide shutout its opponent, this time by the blowout score of 61-0. Alabama showcased a new offensive weapon in the game, Jimmy Johnson who through great blocking and end runs scored 3 touchdowns. Mack Brown also cracked the endzone twice (once on an impressive 80 yard dash) while Red Barnes, Hershel Caldwell, Dave Rosenfeld and Andy Cohen all crossed the strip once. Cohen's score was a 75 yard run in the final quarter of play. The 1924 squad finished the season 8-1 for the first Southern Conference title in school history for coach Wallace Wade.
