  Alabama vs. Southern Mississippi After giving up an early touchdown to Southern, the Tide would not allow another score and would win going away 40-7 in Tuscaloosa. Alabama's first score came on an interception ran back 58 yards for a touchdown by Bud Willis. George McCain would score Bama's next two touchdowns on runs of 54 and 5 yards. Bobby Marlow would score Bama's fourth touchdown on a 4 yard run. Bobby Luna scored the fifth touchdown on a 22 yard pass from Clell Hobson, and Corky Tharp would score the sixth and final touchdown on an 1 yard run. The 1951 squad finished with a record of 5-6 for Coach Red Drew.
