  Alabama vs. Tulane After dissapointing the home crowd the weekend before as the favored team, the Crimson Tide headed to New Orleans as a two touchdown underdog for the Green Wave's homecoming. However Bama would spoil the festivities by winning 13-7. The offense had its best game of the season with 266 rushing yards and 113 passing yards. Bama's two touchdowns came off of 2 yard dives by Dom Comstock and George Salem. The 1956 squad finished the season 2-7-1 for coach J.B. "Ears" Whitworth.
