  Score: 36-3
Alabama vs. Miami In the 8th game of the 1962 season the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over the highly touted Miami Hurricanes and climbed up to the number 1 spot in the polls. Defense was the story in the first half as Miami led just 3-0 going into the lockerooms. However the game was a tale of two halves has Bama came out flying in the second. Cotton Clark got the Bama scoring going with a 1 yard dive across the endzone just 5 minutes into the third quarter. Clark scored again 4 minutes later, this time on a stand up 11 yard run. With just five seconds left in the third quarter Alabama scored its third touchdown on a 12 yard pass from Joe Namath to Bill Battle. Both this touchdown and the last came with 2 point conversions and the lead was now 23-3 going into the final frame. Bama was not done yet however as they scored twice in the fourth. The first a 1 yard run by Namath and the second a 2 yard run by Jack Hurlbut. The 1962 squad finished with a record of 10-1, and with a victory in the Orange Bowl for Coach Bryant.
