  Alabama vs. Georgia Tech In a thrilling game up to the very end the Tide came back with a late fourth quarter touchdown to tie Georgie Tech 14-14 at Atlanta's Grant Field. Tech jumped out to an early lead scoring in each of the first two quarters and converting on the extra points. They could have essentially iced the game late in the first half with a field goal but the kicked sailed wide by a couple feel and the game was 14-0 in favor of GT going into halftime. In the second half Charley Holm went down with a costly injury and may Tide fans thought the hopes of winning the game went down with him. The players had a different idea however and Alabama rallied for two second half scores. "Pig" Davis came in to replace Holm and immediatly made an impact on the first drive with a 33 yard run and then a 3 yard touchdown run. The final score came on a 66 yard play that saw Charles Boswell connect on a short pass to Vic Bradford who latteralled to Davis and he ran it the rest of the way for the score. Tech protested contended it was an illegal play but the refs did not agree and the play stood and the game ended in a tie. The Tide finished the 1938 season with a record of 7-1-1 for Coach Frank Thomas.
