  Alabama vs. Georgia Tech In this Crimson victory, the Tide upset the Yellow Jackets 14-12 in Atlanta. Bill Cadenhead scored Bama's first touchdown on a four yard run after Doug Lockridge's fumble recovery on the Tech 4 yard line for the Tide. Bama's second score came from Elliott Speed's 62 yard interception return for a touchdown. Ed Salem's two extra points were enough to give Alabama the victory. Alabama was outgained both in the air and on the ground but 4 Tech turnovers were the key to the upset victory in the Tide's best game of the season. The 1948 squad finished the season with a record of 6-4-1 for Coach Red Drew.
