  Alabama vs. Miami The Tide proved to be the true hurricanes in this contest, by "blowing away" the 'Canes 32-8. Bama scored twice in the first half. The first on a 30 yard interception return by Lanny Norris, and the second score came on a 21 yard Scott Hunter pass to Jerry Cash. Alabama would continue to score in the second half with George Ranger scoring on a 5 yard run in the third. After Miami's first and only score of the game, the Tide would end the afternoons scoring with a 32 yard Richard Ciemny field goal, and a 2 yard Cash plunge. The 1970 squad finished the season with a record of 6-5-1 along with a tie in the Bluebonnet Bowl for Coach Bryant.
