Alabama vs.Georgia Tech

  Date: 11/15/1952
  Score: 3-7
Alabama vs. Georgia Tech The Tide travelled into Atlanta underdogs to a mighty Georgia Tech squad who was ranked number 2 in the nation and the Tide nearly pulled off an upset but lost 7-3. Bama took an early lead off of a 25 yard Bobby Luna field goal. A costly fumble on their own 28 and an ill-timed roughing penalty allowed Tech to score its only points of the game on a short touchdown run. In the second quarter Alabama drove to the Tech 1 yard line but were unable to slam it accross the line. In the closing moments of the game the Crimsons had the ball down to the Tech 14 but time expired and the Yellow Jackets escaped with a narrow victory. The 1952 squad finished the season with a record of 10-2 and a victory in the Orange Bowl for Coach Red Drew.
