  Alabama vs. Miami A week after losing to LSU on the road, Bama rebounded by destroying the Hurricanes 42-6. In the first, Scott Hunter would score on a 2 yard touchdown run. In the second, Bama would score a trio of touchdowns to put the game out of reach. The first two touchdowns were scored by Johnny Musso on a 1 yard run and on a 21 yard reception from Neb Hayden. Hayden would then connect with George Ranger for a 16 yard touchdown pass to close the first half's scoring. Bama's second half scoring came on a 3 yard Phil Chaffin touchdown run in the third, and on an 18 yard Benny Rippetoe touchdown pass to Stephen Doran in the fourth. In this contest, Johnny Musso starred in gaining over 100 yards in total offense for the first time in his career at the Capstone. The 1969 squad would finish the season with a record of 6-5 along with an appearence in the Liberty Bowl for Coach Bryant.
