  Alabama vs. Kentucky In what was Alabama's first road game of the 1917 season, Bama would travel to Lexington and defeat Kentucky by the score of 27-0 after only managing to score only 5 points in their previous two games. Bama would score in all but the fourth quarter with J.H. Emmett (who scored two), Allen Lowman, and A.T. Spangler (on a 70 yard interception return) scoring touchdowns. This game also marks the first time that Alabama and Kentucky would play each other in football. The 1917 squad would finish the season with a record of 5-2-1 in what was Thomas Kelly's final season as Alabama's head coach.
