  Alabama vs. Maryland Alabama was awarded a berth in the 1952 Orange Bowl after its 27-7 victory over Maryland in Mobile. The Tide's first score came on a 9 yard touchdown pass from Bobby Luna to Bart Starr. Tommy Lewis scored Bama's next touchdown on a 1 yard run. Bobby Marlow scored the third touchdown for the Tide on a 1 yard run, and Cecil Ingram scored Bama's final touchdown on an interception ran back 78 yards for a touchdown. The day belonged to Alabama quarterback Clell Hobson however as he called the best game of his college career leading Bama to vicotry over the Terps. The 1952 squad finished the season with a record of 10-2 and a victory in the Orange Bowl for Coach Red Drew.
