Alabama vs.Washington & Lee

  Date: 11/24/1910
  Score: 9-0
Alabama vs. Washington & Lee Alabama hosted the Washington & Lee Generals in Birmingham for the final game of the 1910 season. This game had great meaning for both teams as W&L was coached by "Doc" Pollard who up until the previous year had been the coach of the Crimsons, and with this 9-0 win Alabama improved its record back to the .500 mark on the season and avoided the first losing season since 1903. After a scoreless first quarter in which Alabama missed 2 field goals, the Thin Red Line finally cracked the scoreboard on a Farley Moody field goal. The Generals dominated the third quarter but the Alabama defense stuffed them time and time again near the goal line. It was Moody again in the final quarter scoring on a 50 yard punt return to add the insurance touchdown. The 1910 squad finished the season 4-4 for coach Guy Lowman in his only season at the Capstone.
