Alabama vs.Georgia

  Date: 11/26/1925
  Score: 27-0
Alabama vs. Georgia For the final game of the 1925 season Alabama hosted Georgia in Birmingham and with this 27-0 victory the Tide completed an undefeated regular season and remarkably 8 of the 9 games were won via the shutout. The only game not ending in a shutout was the 50-7 beating of Birmingham Southern. As for this game however Georgia never had a chance. Bama got going strong in the first quarter when Pooley Hubert took the snap at midfield, reversed to Hoyt Winslett who then launched it 25 yards to Grant Gillis who ran the rest of the way for the 50 yard touchdown. Hubert again figured on the second touchdown in the second quarter when Georgia fumbled on its own 10 yard line and four plays later he took it in for the score. In the third a series of trick plays of long runs landed the ball on the Georgia 1 where Hubert drove it in. In the fourth it was Hubert yet again going in from the 4 yard line to provide the final score of the game. With this victory the Tide completed its undefeated untied 1925 campaign and were awarded a trip to the Rose Bowl, the first time Alabama had ever been to a bowl game. The 1925 squad would finish with a record of 10-0, as Southern Conference Champions, and as national champions after defeating Washington in the Rose Bowl for head coach Wallace Wade.
