  Alabama vs. Vanderbilt Alabama concluded its undefeated regular season against the Vanderbilt Commodores with a 14-6 win. The win took the Tide to 4th overall in the Associated Press's first ever poll but still there was no Bowl game for Alabama this season. As for the game Vanderbilt took an early 6-0 lead on a first quarter touchdown but from there the Tide's defense would kick in and stop it from getting out of hand. After Vandy took this lead into halftime Alabama's offense finally woke up. Ben McCloud took a pass from Joe Riley 32 yards for the touchdown and with the converted point after Alabama took a 7-6 lead. Alabama took this lead late into the fourth quarter when Riley passed to Kilgrow for a 12 yard touchdown. The 1936 squad finished the season 8-0-1 for Coach Frank Thomas.
