  Alabama vs. Auburn In the annual Iron Bowl meeting in Birmingham, Alabama, the Crimson Tide knew a win would put them into the first ever SEC championship game and they did convincingly shutting out the rival Tigers 17-0. After a scoreless first half Antonio Langham intercepted the ball and brought it to the house 61 yards to put Alabama on top 7-0. Michael Proctor would tack on a 47 yard field goal late in the quarter. Sherman Williams added to the lead with a 15 yard run with 12:08 to go in the game to give Alabama an Iron Bowl win and a birth in the SEC Championship game. The Alabama defense held the tigers to just 8 first downs all game. The 1992 squad finished with a record of 13-0, as SEC champions, and as national champions for coach Gene Stallings.
