  Alabama vs. Georgia The game was a thriller until the bitter end as the Crimson Tide edged the Georgia Bulldogs in Georgia 16-14 for the Tide's second win in a row. Georgia struck first near the end of the first half to go up 7-0 at halftime. Clell Hobson connected with Georgia McCain on a 14 yard score early in the third quarter to give Bama its first score of the game. Red Lutz then booted a field goal to give Alabama the lead. Following a second Georgia score, Hobson again passed to McCain, this time for a 21 yard touchdown to provide the winning margin. The 1951 squad finished the season 5-6 for coach Red Drew.
