  Alabama vs. LSU The Crimson Tide started an impressive streak against the LSU tigers with their 21-0 win. The win was the first of 4 consecutive shutouts for Alabama during the 1966 season. Alabama's defense was the story of the game allowing LSU to just 6 total first downs and 90 yards of offense. The scoring got started in the first when Mike Hall blocked a Tiger punt that went out of the endzone for an Alabama safety. Steve Davis provided the scoring for the rest of the first half connecting on two field goals. The first came from 24 yards and the second from 32. In the third quarter Bobby Johns intercepted a pass and ran it back 33 yards for the score. And in the final quarter Bama scored its only offensive touchdown of the game with a 3 yard Frank Canterbury run. The 1966 squad finished 11-0, as SEC champions, and with a win in the Sugar Bowl against Nebraska for Coach Bryant.
