Alabama vs.Tulane

  Date: 11/6/1937
  Score: 9-6
Alabama vs. Tulane The 1937 clash between Alabama and Tulane was a little too close for Alabama's liking as they were almost defeated and only a last minute field goal could preserve this 9-6 victory. Tulane struck first in the contest following a blocked punt but they would not score again for the rest of the game. Alabama's lone touchdown came in the third quarter when Victor Bradford scored on a 2 yard run. In the closing seconds of the game Sandy Sanford kicked the winning field goal. Sanford was highly recruited by assistant coach Bear Bryant and after this game everyone understood why. The 1937 squad finished the season 9-1 as SEC Champions and with a loss in the Rose Bowl for Coach Frank Thomas.
