  Date: 11/7/1931
  Score: 41-0
Alabama vs. Florida The Alligators of Florida were no match for the Crimson Tide on this afternoon in Birmingham as the 41-0 score indicated. Alabama scored 6 touchdowns, two each in the second, third, and fourth quarters. It looked like in the first quarter Florida was going to take the lead when they drove to the Alabama 9 and had first down but the Tide stopped them dead in their tracks and the Gators never seriously threatened again. John Cain scored the first touchdown on a 1 yard run and also set up the second with his interception as Leon Long plunged in from the 1. Long scored his second touchdown in the third on an 11 yard run and later in the quarter Hilmon Holley scored on a 16 yard end run. Howard Chappell and Erskine Walker scored the final two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The 1931 squad finished the season 9-1 for coach Frank Thomas in his first season at the Capstone.
