  Alabama vs. LSU Alabama would score a pair of touchdowns within the final three minutes of the game to give the Tide a dramatic 22-16 victory over LSU in Baton Rouge. After a scoreless first half, Bama got on the board in the third with a 53 touchdown pass play from Andrew Zow to Quincy Jackson. With only 2:24 to go in the game, Zow would hit Shaun Alexander for a 21 yard touchdown reception. Jason McAddley would recover the onsides kick for the Tide, and with only :38 remaining in the game, Zow would hit Jackson for the game-winning, 25 yard yard touchdown reception. For the game, Alexander would rush for 109 yards. The 1998 squad finished the season with a record of 7-5 and with an appearence in the Music City Bowl for coach Mike Dubose.
