Alabama vs. Chattanooga Bama's offense remained in high gear in this contest against the Moccasins as the Tide defeated Chattanooga 42-28. After the Moccasins struck first, Bobby Marlow evened the score on a 1 yard touchdown plunge in the first quarter. Corky Tharp was the player of the game for the Crimson Tide racking up 96 yards and scoring on touchdown runs of 56 and 6 yards. Hootie Ingram would then score on a 60 yard interception return to put Alabama up by 3 scores. Amazingly, Chattanooga's offense took fire and ripped off three consecutive touchdowns in the final quarter. However, Bama was not going to lose the game, and Bobby Conway scored on a 1 yard dive and Bobby Luna danced in from the 2 to provide the winning margin. Luna would also convert on all 6 extra point attempts. The 1952 squad finished the season with a record of 10-2 and a victory in the Orange Bowl for Coach Red Drew.
